What's with the Variety of Baby Formula?

Both my wife and I are ecstatic about our newly born baby girl. As much as I dislike going to grocery stores, I've been frequently visiting them shopping for, what else, baby stuff. As I'm looking at my List-of-Items To Get, I noticed that some baby formulas were quite the same with a little fine print of difference. For example, one was almost identical down to the color and packaging. It's even from the same company but a fine print that indicated "with Iron". Then you have to figure out which sizes you want; 2 ozs, 4 ozs, 8 ozs, 24 or 32 and so forth. The experience made me realize even more how much I dislike shopping, but this instance was an exception. I'm no longer shopping for my wife and me, but for our precious baby girl. I ended up picking the formula that the hospital provided for us during our 2-day stay. I figured that they would possibly provide us with the best option and not give us anything that might be under-par among others. Anyway, the formula was just a quick solution until my wife is able to fully breast-feed. She is having a hard time latching on to the baby during the first couple of days. Seems like she is getting more breast milk as days passed. This is good news for me, as I don't have to stare at those baby formula labels in the near future. |
